Mr. Perfect and Miss Almost Chapter 3

"You know, that's what he said to me at the time." Yun Shu jumped down from the card table, cleared her throat and made a gesture of pushing her glasses, imitating Zhang Sinian's flat, dull tone, "The next time we meet, I hope you can follow the basic guidelines. No more than three colours from head to toe."

After saying this, she sat down with a puffed up face, almost like a puffer fish.

As soon as Yun Shu arrived at the Empty Cup, she didn't even order any wine. He poured beans out of a bamboo tube and imitated the afternoon's situation for Li Wei and Lin Chuchu, who had already arrived.

The two of them were laughing back and forth, and Li Wei was laughing so hard that the flesh on his chin was trembling.

"Ah hello—— you two, can you help me with some ideas?"

Li Wei smiled and reassured her, "You have to bow down when you're under the roof."

"Think about it, ever since you were little, between you and Yun Lan, you were always the Buddha and the little monkey who couldn't escape her palm. Whenever you resisted, you were eventually suppressed by her mercilessly. And your own sister, too, will not harm you, so just do as Yun Lan has arranged."

Yun Shu glared at him, "You're still saying that if it weren't for you, I'd be bending over backwards for twice the cost of living?"

"Yes, yes, yes. ...... I am also responsible." Li Wei soothed her as he ordered her a drink, "One ......"

"A peach sparkling wine, right?" The bartender took over. They had been here quite a few times and Yunshu always drank a low alcohol sparkling wine with a peach flavour.

Yun Shu didn't really blame him, taking the glass and humming a little.

They were both disciples of Ma Yunhua, a famous comedian. Li Wei was four years older than her, and they were the closest in age to each other, so they teamed up to do comic dialogues together. At that time, She was still a chubby meatball and Li Wei was still a skinny bamboo pole, one fat and one thin. She was a cute little girl with a lovely white face, a crisp voice and a quick tongue, and was loved by many.

Her nickname Little Cloud [1] came from this period, not as a compliment, but because Li Wei teased her about her fleshy face and her name with the character cloud, like the fluffy clouds in the sky.

The two have known each other for many years. Yun Shu watched Li Wei go from a thin bamboo pole to a fat man with a beer belly of more than 150 kilograms. She began to lose weight herself, and in her senior year of high school, she studied so hard that she became a thin bamboo pole with less flesh, and her features became more refined. When she posted a picture of herself as a child on Weibo, her fans lamented that she had simply "grown up with a face-lift".

But now both have stopped talking about comedy. One has nothing to say on Weibo and is known for daring to say anything, and the other is a producer of hot variety shows in the entertainment industry. It's a good thing that the division is quite lenient, although the two are proper inner disciples and the division doesn't have any practice of ranking them by name. If they were placed in other sects, they would have been deprived of their names and expelled from the division, so it's not possible for them to happily attend divisional gatherings every year.

Ever since she was a child, Li Wei had screwed her over many times because his brain was faster than hers. But when it comes to the matter of her living expenses, Li Wei is not really to blame.

In terms of intelligence, Li Wei is in the same league as Yun Lan. After graduating from F University with a degree in journalism at the age of 20, he joined one of China's leading TV stations and worked his way up from the bottom to become a popular variety show producer. It took him less than two years, but he was so restricted that he set up his own cultural media company and started producing his own variety shows. When Yunshu turned 18, she received her first dividend and used it to support him, becoming the second largest shareholder in Li Wei's company

However, as a shareholder, she has not received any dividends since the company was established. Li Wei was a bit of an idealist, and the company's first show was a tribute to RTHK's now defunct current affairs talk show "Night Talk Around the Furnace", a similar talk show with some of the biggest names in the industry. It was only through Li Wei's fame that he managed to get sponsorship for the show, which was put up on a video site. The topics discussed were not grounded enough and the response was lukewarm. The show ended up costing the industry a fortune. In the intervening two years, Li Wei has done a debate variety show and a talk show, which have been well received and have barely been able to overcome the debt crisis.

As Yunshu is also not good at financial management, Yunlan and her grandfather decide to withhold all her dividends and give her the money when she gets a double degree in finance and becomes more aware of investment and financial management. Yun Lan's living expenses are not low, but she has several hobbies that burn money. As a result, Yun Shu, who looks like a proper rich kid to outsiders, has been living a life of waiting for her sister to pay for her living expenses.

"Tsk, and you guys drank." Lu Zhiyi walked over to the bar, pulled out a stool and sat down.

The purpose of this meeting is to give Lu Zhiyi, Li Wei's girlfriend, a practice. She is going to Europe for six months to study.

Lu Zhiyi is a beautiful woman who is both talented and beautiful, so why did she fall for Li Wei, a fat man of 150 pounds?  In Yunshu's words, it's because Brainy is the new sexy.[2]

Yunshu puffed up again and repeated Zhang Sinian's words, "Zhiyi, you studied art. You said that my outfit is abnormal."

Lu Zhiyi's eyes swept up and down Yun Shu twice, smiled and poked Yunshu's face like a pufferfish, and she saw the air puffing out of her mouth and her face going down, and laughed out loud: "It also depends on your face." Lu Zhiyi swept her eyes up and down Yunshu's body twice, smiling and poking Yunshu's face like a pufferfish. Lu Zhiyi casually pointed at someone on the dance floor, "Most people don't necessarily look good in them. But it's only because of their looks that they dare to do that."

Yunshu does not fall into the category of beauty in the formal aesthetic, but is more on the side of cute and quirky, with narrow eyelids and drooping eyes that look innocent and cute, eyes that are not too big but very soulful, a small palm-sized face, white and soft skin, a long nose, and eyes that squint into a line when she smiles. The corners of her lips are curved, with two small pears, and the mood of the people around her is infected with brightness.

Yunshu hummed and handed her mobile phone to Lin Chuchu: "Chuchu, take a picture for me."

She took her skateboard, put her hat on and posed for the picture.

After taking the picture, she took the phone from Lin Chuchu and quickly tweeted.

@cloudrollrollroller: I was taught today that I can't wear more than three colours from head to toe. ╭(╯^╰)╮ I think my outfit is super nice! 【Photo】.

"Okay." Lin Chuchu rubbed her head of curly hair, "Today is to help Zhiyi get wasted."

        "Come on, cheers."

Lu Zhiyi raised her glass, and the three of them clinked their glasses together.

The three of them ended up getting a little tipsy from all the drinking.

Lin Chuchu disliked the resident singer's bad singing and drove him off stage, grabbing the microphone. When she reached the top of her voice, there was a faint tear in her voice, her tone dropped an octave, and her slightly drunken face was as bright as a peach and plum.

Yunshu and Lin Chuchu also had a story to tell. The two met at a philosophy seminar at the University of F. They were invited to discuss a bizarre topic - the philosophical basis of artificial intelligence. Yunshu arrived a little late and when she entered the venue, she saw Lin Chuchu wearing smoky make-up, a sexy tight dress with a large, ill-fitting jacket over it, discussing with the professor on stage in a serious manner. At that time, Lin Chuchu had just retired from the live broadcast of a famous music talent show in China, and came straight to the seminar. At the time, she was a top student in the Philosophy Department of F University, with her good looks and voice, she was highly regarded by the audience and dropped out of the competition for an inexplicable lecture, which sparked much discussion on the internet.

When Yunshu first met her, Lin Chuchu had a face as bright as a peach and plum, but her expression was as cold as ice. The first time in her life she was spoken to, she rushed up to her after the lecture and said with a curved eyebrow, "I'm Yun Shu, would you like to meet me?"

Some people are as good as new, some are as good as old. The first time Yun Shu saw her, she felt that they were the same kind of person, and they became close friends.

Later, Yun Shu learned that the deputy director of the draft at that time suggested to Lin Chuchu for promotion that he wanted unspoken rules[3], so she simply withdrew from the competition. Now she continues her studies and occasionally helps Li Wei with the soundtrack of his variety show, and sings in bars when she has nothing else to do. It's also considered free.

When Lin Chu Chu jumped off the stage, the audience applauded.

Yunshu applauded along with her, and Li Wei's careless voice came to her ears, "Tonight's talk show, the second season starts next week, with a resident cast, do you want it?"

Yunshu's applause stalled: "You know, I've never been a fan of ......"

Li Wei looked straight at her, "You don't like it, or you don't dare?"

Yun Shu was a little afraid to look at him, her eyes flickering in the dim light.

She didn't take Li Wei's words and digressed, "That script review of yours is fast becoming a kind of joke in itself, a show that is compromised and recompromised, censored and redacted. And, like foreign talk show productions, it's all ......"

"Well ......" Li Wei interrupted her deliberately skipping the point and pulling the words away from the topic, "Domestic shows of this kind originally did not have much of a foundation. They were all products of pulling up and compromising with each other. Dancing in shackles was bound to last a long.[4] This is something you and I both agree on, we won't discuss it today."

"Then I'll help you write the script, help you share some of the work, but I ......"

"You-" Li Wei rubbed her head, interrupting her, "just refuse if you don't like it, you know."

"Exactly." Lu Zhiyi interjected, teasing her, "Your brother has a big heart and a fat body, look at his belly."

She said and poked Li Wei's round beer belly: "He just needs to take a beating to lose weight. When I'm not here, you should reject him a few more times and let him take a beating. During this period, you will be responsible for helping him lose weight."

"Hey - don't be so personal with your boyfriend." Li Wei reached up to rest his stomach and complained with a sad face.

Looking at Li Wei's trembling beer belly, Yunshu's somewhat depressed mood returned and she and Lu Zhiyi smiled together.

Lin Chuchu returned to the card table, ruffled her hair and sat down, followed by the resident singer she had just driven off stage, carrying a guitar, with handsome features. He was stammering, asking Lin Chuchu for a drink, his face flushed red at Lin Chuchu's smirking gaze.

[1]雲舒 (yún shū) 雲 ( yún) cloud

小 雲 朵( xiǎo yún duǒ) Little Cloud

[2]智慧是性感的新潮流 Wisdom is the new trend of sexy

[3] 要潛規則 Unspoken rules are behavior constraints that people privately recognize; unspoken rules of entertainment: the sex trade

[4] It means "In the face of adversity, still maintain an optimistic and positive attitude to face life and challenges" the meaning that i can discern from the sentence is essentially: "temporary solutions like these last for a while because they have to"

The author has something to say.

This chapter has been written for a long time. From the protagonist to the supporting role, I hope to write more fuller, and I hope I can write her well.

This chapter is considered a transitional chapter, with some foreshadowing behind it.  Mr. Zhang will appear in the next chapter~

I am afraid that some people may not understand the part about the comic stripping names. For example, Cao Yunjin, a member of the Yun generation of the Dewun Society, was expelled from the school after having the character Yun in his stage name, and Guo De Gang said that he would be stripped of the character Yun in his name.
