Transmigrated into the sickly beautiful younger sister of the Villain Chapter 3

CHAPTER 3

Lu Nian rushed into the house, coughing all the way, having caught a cold outside. Bringing in a cold gust of wind, she was coughing so much that her cheeks turned red. Zhang Qiuping was frightened and hurriedly fetched soup and medicine, while two caregivers helped her to relax her breath and supported her on the back. They worked together to take her back to her own room upstairs.

"Miss, you can't run around like this outside in such weather in the future," Zhang Qiuping said. "Sir would feel very worried if he saw you."

Lu Nian played with her, thinking that it's unlikely for her father to see and feel heartbroken. Because by the time Lu Zhihong comes back next time, she would have certainly recovered. It's probably already time for the next round of illness.

"Doctor Zhao will be here soon," Zhang Qiuping answered a phone call.

Lu Nian nodded her head, holding a cup of hot tea. She sat obediently on a large chair that was soft, warm and cushioned, with a pair of clear eyes looking at Zhang Qiuping. "Aunt Zhang, where is Qin Si staying in my house now?" She asked, "I haven't seen him around before."

Zhang Qiuping doesn't know why Lu Nian has been so interested in Qin Si recently.

However, Lu Nian has a capricious and unpredictable temperament. Children are also unpredictable, with their temperament changing from one day to another. It is likely that he has found some new source of amusement in him.

As long as Lu Nian is happy, she doesn't care about how Qin Si is messing around. So she replied, "He usually stays at your Uncle Xu's place, on the top floor."

She hesitated for a moment and changed the attic to the top floor.

Xu Ru Hai is the steward of the Lu family and has been with the Lu family for many years. He handles all the miscellaneous matters of the Lu family, big and small. Therefore, for convenience, he also lives in this estate.

Looking out from the window, Lu Nian could see the small building where the Xu family lived. It was concealed within the dim yellow light of the winter evening, appearing even more vague and desolate, like a lonely bird. Its dark shadow stretched into the winter dusk.

The building is not large and only has two floors. The first floor serves as temporary accommodation for employees of the Lu family when they come to the estate for business. The second floor is occupied by Xu Ruhai's room, and originally there was a room next to it arranged for Qin Si to stay in.

Xu Ruhai has a son who is around the same age as Qin Si. Originally, the son lived with his wife in their old house in the city. However, after being taken to the estate once, Xu Hui cried and shouted to live in a villa when he returned home.

Xu Ru Hai was at a loss about what to do with his son, so he came up with a solution to ask Qin Si to move out, give the room to Xu Hui, and then clean up a living space for him in the attic on the top floor.

Liu Zhihong is often not at home, and he doesn't care about these details at all. As a result, Qin Si lost his room and has been living in the attic ever since.

Zhang Qiuping had only been to the attic once a long time ago to clean up some clutter. Her figure was a bit plump, and she had a hard time squeezing in to grab the carpet. The dust made her cough all the way out.

However, for just one little boy, the attic should be spacious enough. Zhang Qiuping thought that Xu Ruohai should have cleaned up the attic and made it livable.

Lu Nian nodded thoughtfully, staring at the small building hidden in the dusk. She sat upright in her chair and asked, "Zhang Auntie, do you know why my father adopted Qin Si back then?"

Lu Nian has always been very resistant to Qin Si, not to mention personally inquiring about his background. Zhang Qiuping unexpectedly gave her a glance, but since she has already asked, she still straightforwardly told her everything she knows.

"That child is one of the children left behind by the orphanage. After being adopted several times, they were sent back again. He stayed in the orphanage until he was eight years old, never went to school, and no one was willing to take him in. He was about to be abandoned..."

Actually, Zhang Qiuping is not sure why Lu Zhihong chose Qin Si to adopt. Qin Si's age and personality are clearly not suitable for adoption.

The Lu family sent him to the best school in Ancheng, provided him with food and drink, and Zhang Qiuping thought that they had already done very well.

Zhang Qiuping carefully observed Lu Nian's expression and said, "Actually, the main reason they wanted to bring him back was to keep you company. After all, in the past, Young Master..." Zhang Qiuping spoke casually, but when those three words slipped out of her mouth, she suddenly stopped and covered her mouth, her face turning pale as she looked at Lu Nian.

Lu Nian was lying on the bed, lost in thought and staring blankly ahead. She didn't notice her own words, "But..." She hesitated for a moment and turned her head. "It seems like he doesn't really like me."

Obviously still thinking about Qin Si's affairs.

Zhang Qiuping held her emotions back and spoke quickly, "That child behaves like this towards everyone, never smiling. Our Lu family has raised him for two or three years, and he still has the same attitude."

She pursed her lips and said, "If you feel bored, Miss, you can call my Qing Qing over to keep you company. And besides, you'll recover soon and go back to school in a few days. You won't lack friends."

    That's someone unfamiliar.

The implicit meaning is to not worry about Qin Si.

Lu Nian remained silent, with lowered eyelashes, deep in thought.

No matter what, it won't work."

As for the Miss of the Lu family, it doesn't matter whether she assumes her responsibility or not. As for Lu Zhihong's final outcome, it can only be said that he brought it upon himself. She doesn't have the ability to interfere with Lu Zhihong's decisions now.

Just that her physical condition is so poor now, panting after every three steps, and she has no education or skills. When Lu Zhihong passes away in the future, and the entire Lu family falls under Qin Si's control, what will she do? Will she just be driven out and left to die?

Furthermore, considering Qin Si's situation, even though he later achieved great power and wealth, he could not enjoy them to the fullest and did not live a happy life. He passed away at the age of twenty-nine, and throughout his short life, he lacked compassion and loyalty, having no connection to love, friendship, or familial bonds.

The original book's female lead is a gentle and beautiful woman who carries the halo of a protagonist. However, even so, she was never able to get close to Qin Si's heart, and until the end, they remained distant. Some readers have discussed how the female lead could successfully capture Qin Si's heart, and after eight pages of discussion, they arrived at an impossible conclusion.

——This person is probably naturally emotionally detached, an anti-social individual.

——I'm saying, why are you so obsessed with analyzing Qin Si? The book doesn't even describe what he looks like. Judging from his ruthless methods and lack of sympathy, he must be a psychological deviant who is ugly and ferocious. Is it because I, Luyang, am not sunny enough, or because Zhao Tingyuan is not handsome enough that you are still thinking about him?"

Lu Nian vaguely remembers having glanced at the comment section a few times, and it was a heated and chaotic argument.

Now she can responsibly say that Qin Si is very good-looking, judging from her facial features and overall appearance. As he grows older, he will definitely not be inferior. She hasn't met the male lead yet, but she believes he definitely won't be worse.

    As for personality...

These are absolutely related to his experiences in the Lu family during his youth. The Lu family was the first stepping stone for him and also the beginning of his road to revenge.

While he is not yet fully grown, Lu Nian wants to do everything she can to improve his situation, to make him feel warmth, and hopefully pull him back a little from the wrong path.

However, regarding Qin Si, she thought about it and decided to rely on her own conscience to do things, and not deliberately go overboard.

After all, Qin Si, as an adult, was cunning and unpredictable. Due to his experiences in his youth, he became extremely suspicious and had a precocious and sensitive nature. Throughout the entire book, until the end, those who intentionally flattered and had ulterior motives towards him all met tragic outcomes. Lu Nian didn't want to become the first one to be sacrificed and have her blood spilled.

She just wants to live an ordinary life, to lead a simple and ordinary existence, without being affected by Qin Si's revenge against the Lu family. It would be enough if they simply cast her aside and swept her out the door, just like an ordinary person.

She should start studying diligently from now on, cooperate with the treatment to heal her body, and preferably learn a skill so that she can survive on her own after being driven out by Qin Si in the future.

Lu Nian was staring blankly at the ceiling, a small girl wrapped up in a large blanket, her lips slightly puckered in a puzzled and contemplative expression, looking particularly cute.

Doctor Zhao saw this scene when he arrived, and a smile appeared on his face. He gently opened the medicine box and said softly, "Come, little girl, give me your hand. It's time to change the bandage."

Lu Nian was very cooperative and obediently extended her right hand to him.

After completing the routine check, Zhao Ming changed her medicine and gave some instructions before preparing to tidy up the medicine box and leave.

The little girl called out to him with a soft voice, "Doctor brother, could you please stay a bit longer?"

Zhao Ming was somewhat surprised. He was the fourth family doctor hired by the Lu family, and his main patient was this troublesome young lady. The previous three doctors had already been driven away, despite the high price offered by the Lu family. Zhao Ming had just started dealing with this legendary young lady and felt that the little girl was both pitiful and adorable. It was normal for her to have a bit of a bad temper.

Zhao Ming slightly bent over, smiling and said, "Of course, I am the doctor specifically hired by your family. You can tell Uncle if you need anything."

"Doctor, could you please help me treat someone?" said Lu Nian, pointing to her cheek. "He accidentally fell and injured his hands and feet two days ago when he collided with a classmate on the road. I saw him bleeding yesterday."

Zhao Ming was a little surprised, but after reacting, he said, "Of course, you can."

Lu Nian got up from the chair, her eyes shining brightly. "I'll take you there."

As the sky had already turned dark, when Xu Ru Hai saw two figures in front of his house and opened the door to take a look, he was surprised and said, "Nian Nian?"

Standing beside the tall young man in white was a small figure, who was really Lu Nian. Her complexion was as usual, pale without any blood color, but her eyes were shining brightly, and she looked quite energetic.

Lu Nian usually never comes here and has always been distant towards a bunch of people including Xu Ruhai. This time, unexpectedly, she took the initiative to come over. Xu Ruhai was pleasantly surprised and showed extra warmth and kindness. He quickly closed the door and led the two inside. Bending down, he asked her, "Is there anything missing for Nian Nian, or is there something you want?"

Xu Hui's ears were sharp. Upon hearing the sound, he quickly ran down from upstairs. He was two years older than Lu Nian. In the past, he often saw Lu Nian entering and leaving the estate from afar, but he could only catch glimpses of her when she got in and out of the car. Lu Nian never talked to him.

The little girl had her hair down, wore a clean and delicate skirt, and wrapped a thick cashmere cloak around her. Her black hair and fair skin, along with her rosy little mouth, made her look like a glass doll, transparent and exquisite. However, due to her illness, she had lost some of her color.

He didn't dare to come too close, his excited face was a bit red.  He asked in a low voice, "Nian Nian, are you here to look for my dad?"

Lu Nian shook his head and looked around. He asked in a soft voice, "Uncle Xu, where is Qin Si?"

Xu Ruhai and Xu Hui were momentarily confused, thinking they had misheard.

Lu Nian repeated, "Is Qin Si here now? Aunt Zhang said he lives here."

    Qin Si?

If Lu Nian is cold and indifferent towards them, then his attitude towards Qin Si can be described as undisguised disdain. Lu Nian has never even called him by his name, and when he occasionally has to, it is a cold and contemptuous "hey".

Would you come all the way here in such cold weather and at such a late hour just to find Qin Si?

Xu Ru Hai could only say, "He's not here. That child is always wandering outside all day, and constantly wants to find him. I'll go and bring him back immediately."

Before Lu Nian could reply, the door opened and a gust of cold air rushed in. A young boy walked in from outside, still carrying a strong, lingering chill, as if he hadn't melted the snow clinging to him.

He saw so many people inside the house, without saying a word, he pursed his lips and went straight upstairs."

"Qin Si." Lu Nian was afraid that he would leave, so she hurried over. Qin Si didn't say anything and continued walking up. Lu Nian was now a little short-legged, and couldn't walk as fast as him.

Without even looking back, Qin Si continued walking away, showing no cooperation. In desperation, Lu Nian, without thinking, reached out and grabbed his right hand."

She gave him the gloves before, but now her two little hands were bare, and the little girl had just come out of a heated room. Her hands were warm and soft, like a feather that had just fallen into his hands.

    Lightweight, soft, and clean.

Xu Hui stared dumbfoundedly and looked at Qin Si angrily.

That scoundrel, how dare he touch Nian Nian with such dirty hands?

The boy felt as though he had been burned by something, and he quickly flung her hand away once he regained his senses.

"Don't touch me," he gritted his teeth and emphasized each word.

    Lu Nian,“…”

She remembered the wound on Qin Si's hand and comforted herself, thinking, 'Oh, I can't pull him like this. I might end up hurting him.'

However, the little boy's eyes were so fierce that it seemed like he was going to bite her.

Is it that painful? She pondered hesitantly.

Xu Hui couldn't help but ask, "Why are you speaking to Nian Nian like that?"

He collided with Qin Si's chilling gaze, momentarily stunned, and his voice involuntarily softened a bit.

"Uncle Xu, is Qin Si's room on the second floor?" Lu Nian asked Xu Ruhai, seeing that she couldn't stop him and had already gone upstairs.

Xu Ruhai is after all an adult. Amidst the rapid and intense interactions among the three children, he could already discern something. With Lu Nian's question, cold sweat started to break out on his back. He could only muster up the courage to say, "It hasn't been cleaned up upstairs, and it's dirty and messy. There's nothing interesting. Nian Nian, do you still want to go?"

"Would you like to come up with me?" Zhao Ming asked Lu Nian. As a doctor, in those few minutes just now, he had already noticed several abnormalities in the little boy's body.

It seems that he cares a lot about this little boy. Go up and see if he has tidied up Qin Si's things. She felt relieved.

Lu Nian thought about it for a moment, but still shook her head.

Qin Si obviously doesn't like her. She thinks that if she goes with Zhao Ming, it will only have the opposite effect.

She was afraid that Qin Si would ignore Zhao Ming, so she carefully explained everything she knew about Qin Si to Zhao Ming. Zhao Ming took notes one by one and assured her that there would be no problem. Then he carried the medicine box and went upstairs.

Xu Ruhai finally heaved a sigh of relief.

On a bitterly cold winter night, Qin Si sat quietly on the floor with a low table in front of him. He held a pen and rapidly wrote down numbers under the flickering lamp.

He completes his homework at a rapid pace, and the knowledge he is currently studying is relatively easy for him. The only problem is that the lighting in his attic is very poor, making it difficult for him to read at night. As a result, he typically finishes his homework during the day at school. However, his recent finger injury has affected his speed.

Fortunately, the school-provided uniforms are all made in a loose and oversized style, he thought. In the past few years, the Lu family had hardly bought him any clothes. The winter school uniform, with a thin layer of cotton inside, was his guarantee to survive the winter. Moreover, only his current body size allowed him to stay in this attic without hindering his movements.

The hand holding the pen is very stiff and somewhat unresponsive.

He pursed his lips, looked at his hand, but suddenly remembered the girl he had just seen downstairs.

Since she was born with a silver spoon in her mouth and was surrounded by admirers like stars orbiting the moon, this privileged young lady has probably never tasted this kind of bitterness before.

众星捧月 (zhòng xīng pěng yuè): lit. (numerous stars surround the moon)- suggesting being surrounded by admirers or receiving constant attention.

    Weak and useless.

Fragile like glass, without the people who serve her, she would probably shatter with a clatter.

One day, she fell into his hands.

He is particularly irritable tonight, thinking viciously.

The little boy had big, dark eyes. He sarcastically pursed his lips, causing pain to the wound on his face, which made him furrow his brows. The bruise on his leg also began to hurt at an inappropriate time. Qin Si wanted to get up and pour cold water on his wound, but then there was a sudden knocking on the door, causing his hand to pause.

"Is Qin Si there?" said a stranger's voice.

Standing outside the narrow door of the attic, there was a young man wearing a white coat. He smiled and bent down, saying, "Someone asked me to come and help you with your injuries."

The author has something to say:  When she falls into his hands one day, what should he do? Of course, he would pamper her to the fullest.

Although still a proud and willful little wolf cub.
